American actress Jenna Ortega was born to Natalie and Edward Ortega. She has five siblings: Isaac, Mariah, Mia, Aliyah, and Markus. Best known for her portrayal of Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s “Wednesday “2022” Ortega is a Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nominee. A native of Coachella Valley in California, her introduction to acting was through a Colgate commercial at the age of nine.


Since then, she has starred in several prominent film and television productions. She featured as Tara Carpenter in the horror franchise “Scream,” as Mabel in the crime thriller “Finestkind (2023),” as Cairo Sweet in the drama “Miller’s Girl (2024),” as Astrid Deetz in the horror fantasy “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024),” and more recently as “Ridley” in the horror comedy “Death of a Unicorn (2025).”

Jenna Ortega’s mother, Natalie Ortega, is of Mexican and Puerto Rican heritage and works as an emergency room nurse. During Jenna’s early years in the industry, her mother would regularly drive her from their home in California’s Coachella Valley to Los Angeles for auditions. Despite the trip requiring several hours each way, Natalie supported her throughout her journey. In 2023, the mother-daughter pair traveled to Paris and visited the Louvre. In an interview with The Cut, Ortega also mentioned spending weekends with her family playing soccer and organizing small but fun competitions.


Her father, Edward Ortega, is Mexican American and is employed by the California district attorney’s office. In a 2016 Popsugar article, Ortega spoke about their efforts to stay connected to their cultural roots, especially through language. She mentioned that her father does not speak Spanish, however, her mother, who learned it from her own grandmother, did.


She also fondly talked about the family traditions that they shared. She spoke about eating piñatas at her birthday parties and homemade tamales during the holiday season. She also appreciates her father’s tacos and carne asada and her mother’s homemade beans, which she states is her favorite food. Natalie often shares glimpses into their lives by sharing family photos on Instagram and celebrating their achievements.

Jenna Ortega has five siblings: Isaac, who was born in 1998; Mariah born in 1999; Mia born in 2000; and Aliyah and Markus, who are twins, born in 2004. The six siblings grew up together in their Coachella Valley residence. Despite Ortega’s very public career, her siblings have largely stayed away from the entertainment industry and any spotlight. They share a close bond and remain supportive of one another.


Mariah at present is a mother of three children, sons DJ and Cash, and a daughter Mya. Mia followed in her mother’s footsteps and graduated from MiraCosta College’s nursing program in May 2024. According to People Mia currently resides in San Diego with her partner. Aliyah is active on Instagram and often posts snapshots from her life. As of April 2025, she has around 248 k followers on the platform.
