Jeremy Strong is a popular American actor, born on December 25, 1978, in Boston, Massachusetts. Strong studied acting at Yale University and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. He started his acting career with theatre before transitioning to film and TV. He made his film debut with Humboldt County in 2008. Strong got his breakthrough with his role as Kendall Roy in the hit HBO show Succession from 2018 to 2023.


Strong gained international popularity from the show and established himself in the entertainment industry. Apart from Succession, he has worked in many notable films, including Lincoln (2012), Zero Dark Thirty (2012), The Big Short (2015), Molly’s Game (2017), and The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020). Jeremy Strong has won many awards over the years for his work. For Succession, he has won many major awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, 2 Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2020, he won a Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance in the film The Trial of the Chicago 7 in 2020. In 2024, he won his first Tony Award for his performance in the play An Enemy of the People.


In his acceptance speech for his 1st Tony win, he expressed gratitude to the cast and creatives of the play and said, “I want to thank the ushers and the front-of-house staff, who see me walking in every day looking like I’ve just been run over by a truck and, and see me walk out looking somehow even worse with like bits of pretzels … in my hair.”

Jeremy Strong has received nominations from many major awards over the years. For Succession, he has received 2 Golden Globe nominations, 3 Emmy nominations, and 3 Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Recently, in the 2025 awards season, Strong received nominations from all major awards for his role in The Apprentice.


For his 1st Oscar nomination for The Apprentice, he expressed his gratitude in a statement and wrote, “I remember being unable to sleep because of how exciting it was to be close to that world. I have not lost that feeling of excitement; I feel it every time I go to set or drive onto a lot or begin rehearsals, I have devoted my life to the attempt to do genuine work that would be worthy of this honor. I am filled with amazement and flooded with emotion and with deep gratitude to my peers in the Academy.” In a statement to People, he stated, “Today’s nomination is, without overstatement, a realization of a lifelong dream.”
