The Russian actor Yura Borisov was born in Reutov, Moscow Oblast, near Moscow. He began his career in 2010 and had some small roles in some television series during that time. He is well-known for his role in the Russian biographical film AK-47, for which he won the Golden Eagle Award in 2021.


Borisov appeared in eight feature films in 2021. He also played the lead part in Juho Kuosmanen's Finnish-Russian film Compartment No. 6, which won the Grand Prix at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. The actor had his international breakthrough in cinema when he appeared in the American comedy-drama “Anora.” Borisov earned several major nominations for his role in the film.
