One of my dreams is to capture the spirit of the old generation which is disappearing from the towns of Galicia and with which I feel such a connection.”

In his interview with Good Morning America, Fiennes said that his wife Maria doesn't watch his hit show, "The Handmaid's Tale". According to the actor, the reason his wife chooses not to follow the show is she doesn't want to mix the images of his reel persona with the loving husband she knows in real life. Fiennes shared:
“I think she wants to keep the image of her husband as the one she has and loves and not to introduce Fred into our relationship.”
Although she doesn't watch the show, Maria has read the book written by Canadian novelist Margaret Atwood, from which the show is adapted.
