Kyle Soller’s Parents

Kyle Soller grew up in a family that supported both his education and his acting career. There is not much information available about his family, but he occasionally mentions them in interviews. His father works as a pharmacology lecturer. His mother is a former concert pianist. He is one of 5 boys in the family and is the middle child. In an interview with RadioTimes, he shared about his family and his childhood.
He said, “My parents had five boys, and they just wanted us to be outside all the time. I’m glad they did. I drove my poor mother insane with constant visits to the hospital. I loved pretending to be a lost boy like Peter Pan, jumping off buildings and swinging on trees – being wild and reckless with my body and using the world as my gymnasium.”
His parents supported his choice to study art history in college, but when he decided to switch to acting, they also supported that decision. Moving from the United States to London to study acting was a big step for him. In an interview with the Independent UK, he said, "If I told my parents that I was going to Paris to be an artist, I think their reaction might have been different." Even today, he credits his parents for helping him become the person and actor he is now. In an interview with Glass magazine, he shared what he learned from his parents.
He said, “That’s how I challenge myself, by never getting complacent or lazy. It’s something I learnt from my parents, in particular my dad, who was a very hard worker. He raised us with my mom to be hard workers, to achieve at a high level, and to make sure we’re working with the best people. You have to set yourself goals.”
