Scarlett Johansson is a popular American actress, born on November 22, 1984, in New York City, United States. Scarlett began acting at a young age as she used to participate in plays. Her 1st paid acting role was in an episode of Late Night with Conon O'Brien. Scarlett made her film debut in North (1994) when she was nine. She got her big break in The Horse Whisperer (1998), which gained her recognition as a talented young actress.


One of Scarlett’s most notable roles is as Black Widow, also known as Natasha Romanoff, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Her performance in these films made her a global superstar. Other than this, she has done many other notable films including Lost in Translation (2003), Girl with a Pearl Earring (2003), Match Point (2005), Scoop (2006), He’s Just Not That Into You (2009), Her (2013), Lucy (2014), and Marriage Story (2019). Scarlett Johansson comes from a creative and supportive family. Her father is Karsten Olaf Johansson, a Danish-born architect, and her mother is Melanie Sloan, a producer. A New Yorker with Jewish roots, Melanie was a big influence in Scarlett’s life and encouraged her to pursue acting from a young age. She often took Scarlett to auditions and supported her dreams of becoming an actress. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph in 2015, Scarlett said, "She just made us feel that you could do whatever you wanted to do, as long as you really wanted to do it, and that's why I got into acting.”


Karsten Olaf is not in the entertainment industry, but his creativity played an important role in Scarlett's upbringing. In an interview with Paste magazine, in 2008, she said, “My dad’s also an architect so he has an incredible aesthetic. I mean every detail, he takes such great care. Even when he’s opening a letter.” He instilled a sense of discipline and creativity in her. She also talked about her father describing how he is, she said, “My dad has always had a very unique sense of his own mortality, and that this is the way things are, and a kind of what-you-see-is-what-you-get attitude.”

Scarlett Johansson is married to Colin Jost. He is an American comedian and writer, best known for his work on Saturday Night Live. The couple began dating in May 2017, and their relationship quickly became serious. In May 2019, Colin and Scarlett got engaged. After the engagement when Scarlett hosted SNL she said, "This place means so much to me. I have so many friends here and I met the love of my life here." In October 2020, Scarlett and Colin tied the knot in a small, private ceremony during a pandemic. On Ellen Degeneres' show, Scarlett shared how Colin proposed to her. “He’s very charming and very thoughtful and romantic. But yeah, I was surprised. Even if you kind of imagine what that moment’s gonna be like, it’s still a beautiful moment”, she said.


Scarlett Johansson has two children. She had her first child from her previous marriage with Romain Dauric, a daughter named Rose Dorothy Dauriac, born in 2014. Scarlett and Romain divorced in 2017 but continue to co-parent their daughter. On Ellen Degeneres' show in 2021, she said, "She's a little bossy – I don't know where she gets it from – and she's very headstrong."


In 2021, Scarlett and Colin welcomed their first child together. They named their son Cosmo. Colin shared the news on Instagram with the caption "Ok ok, we had a baby... His name is Cosmo." Scarlett talked about her son with E! News and she said, "He is funny. He's sort of shy sometimes, but he's a gregarious little guy. He's fun." She also shared about the bonding of her two kids she said, "They get along. The two of them spent a lot of time together this summer which was nice for them.” Scarlett added, “She's a very nice, loving sister. Normally, she's got her own life, but she was forced to stay with him for a lot of time, and they get along really well."
