Doris first appears in Shrek 2 as a bartender at the Poison Apple, a shady bar where villains and outcasts hang out. She was introduced when King Harold visits the bar to hire Puss in Boots to get rid of Shrek. Doris stands out because of her appearance, with thick eyebrows, heavy makeup, and a deep voice.


Later in the film, Doris is shown to have a good relationship with Princess Fiona. In Shrek The Third, Doris becomes best friends with Shrek. She helped Fiona and the other princesses escape and sneak into the castle. She helped defend the kingdom and stayed loyal to Fiona and her friends.


In Shrek Forever After, Doris appears for a very short time. She attends Shrek’s triplets' birthday party. She also left her bartending job and started working as a server at the Candy Apple.

Larry King is the voice of Doris in the Shrek film series. He was an American TV and radio host and author. He was born on November 19, 1933, in New York, United States. He started his broadcasting career in May 1957 as a radio interviewer in Miami. His smooth voice and conversational style made him popular with audiences. In 1985, he started hosting Larry King Live on CNN, where he conducted over 50,000 interviews with politicians, celebrities, and world leaders.


The guests on his show included U.S. presidents, world leaders like Vladimir Putin, and popular celebrities like Frank Sinatra and Oprah Winfrey. Apart from TV, King also wrote columns, published books, and appeared in movies and TV shows. He has appeared in films like The Exorcist III (1990), The Long Kiss Goodnight (1996), The Contender (2000), America's Sweethearts (2001), The Dictator (2012), etc.


He has also appeared in TV shows like The Simpsons (1991-1994), Law and Order: Trial by Jury (2005), Gravity Falls (2012-2016), The People v. O.J. Simpson (2016), etc. After leaving CNN in 2010, he continued hosting interviews online and on other platforms. He has won many awards, including 2 Peabody Awards and a Daytime Emmy Award. His personal life has been in the limelight over the years. He married 8 times to 7 different women and had 5 children. He passed away in January 2021 at the age of 87.
