Kraven the Hunter was delayed numerous times, with one of the major reasons being the SAG-AFTRA strike which happened in 2024.

Kraven the Hunter is an action thriller movie that is the latest entry in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. The movie is directed by J.C. Chandor and revolves around the origin story of Sergei Kravinoff, a man driven by a singular obsession: to prove himself as the world's greatest predator. The movie also explores a deeper narrative of Kraven’s story displaying his relationship with his father. Kraven is known to be one of the most notorious villains in Marvel’s comics and is known for his raw superhuman strength and tactical strategies.

Unlike many Marvel villains, Kraven is not powered by technology or any unknown supernatural forces. Kraven inherits his abilities from a special herb, which grants the character super-human strength and animal instincts. Kraven the Hunter stars various actors like Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, Christopher Abbott, and Russell Crowe among many others.

While earlier the movie was set to release on various dates like January 13, 2023, October 6, 2023, and August 30, 2024, the movie was delayed due to various reasons including The Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists strike.

The executive director of the movie Matt Tolmach talked about the shift in dates during an interview with Collider. He stated, “Kraven moved to Christmas because we’re excited about it and Christmas is the best release period there is when you get people with time to go back to the movies over and over again.” He continued “That was a real reflection of how the studio felt about the movie. We’re really excited. But that’s a great move that reflects just the feeling about the movie.“
