Could Drew Cain be making a miraculous return from the dead? That's the word on the street, with rumors circulating that All My Children alum Cameron Mathison (ex-Ryan Lavery) will be playing the presumed-dead character when he arrives in Port Charles later this summer.
While the ABC soap opera is remaining mum about Mathison's character, behind-the-scenes sources are whispering that he is in fact playing Jason's (Steve Burton) twin, who is currently thought to have perished two years ago in a plane crash near Afghanistan (which viewers now know was arranged by Peter August [Wes Ramsey]).
Mathison hasn't given any clues as to which character he's been hired to play, but he did share on social media that GH asked him to grow some facial hair before he started filming. That could indicate that he'll be playing Drew, who has possibly been stranded since the crash that took him and his previous portrayer, Billy Miller, off the canvas in 2019.
No matter who Mathison will be playing when he arrives on the canvas, the actor enthused back in April that he is "really excited" for the opportunity to star on GH and reported that landing the role has made him feel "like a kid on Christmas."
Meanwhile, could All My Children fans get a Greenlee and Ryan reunion of sorts? Mathison and Rebecca Budig (ex-Hayden Barnes, GH; ex-Greenlee Smythe, AMC) shared an epic on-screen romance in Pine Valley, and with rumors swirling that Budig's Hayden is the one who is currently sending threatening messages and "gifts" to Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) and Ava (Maura West), fans just might see Budig return while Mathison is in Port Charles!
Soap Central will keep you updated as more news about Mathison and Budig's GH futures come out. In the meantime, check out the actors' reunion in a clip from E!'s recent All My Children Reunion Road Trip special below.
