Daytime reacts to the death of "incredibly talented" AMC, GH, Y&R alum Billy J. Miller

Members of the daytime community are remembering three-time Daytime Emmy winner Billy J. Miller. The actor passed away on September 15 at the age of 43.

Three-time Daytime Emmy winner Billy J. Miller passed away at the age of 43 on September 15, 2023. The actor appeared on three daytime drama series: All My Children, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless. During his time in daytime, the actor earned legions of fans, but also the love and admiration of co-stars. Soap Central has collected tributes and remembrances from some of those stars and posted them below.

Patricia Miller, Billy's mother, released a statement on her son's death. Patricia Miller thanked fans for their "overwhelming amount of love, prayers and condolences" in the wake of Billy Miller's passing. You can read her entire statement here.

On its official Twitter account, now know as X, The Young and the Restless said Miller was "a talented man with a heart of gold and always lit up the scene with amazing performances.

Frank Valentini (Executive Producer, GH): "I am devastated to hear news of the incredibly talented Billy Miller's passing. On behalf of the entire (General Hospital) family, our hearts go out to his family and friends during this difficult time."

Brad Bell (Executive Producer and Head Writer, B&B): "Billy Miller was a great man and a gifted actor. Billy left an indelible mark on The Young and the Restless with his brilliant portrayal of Billy Abbott. He will be sorely missed."

Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott, Y&R): "I'm so sad to hear of Billy Miller's passing. His infectious charm and warmth left lasting impressions on all of us who were lucky enough to have him in our lives. I'm gonna miss that mischievous smile. Love you Billy."

Jason Thompson (Billy Abbott, Y&R; ex-Patrick Drake, GH): "I'm so sorry and saddened to hear about my friend, Billy Miller. Heartbreaking. He was funny, had a great laugh and very talented. Light and love to his family and friends."

In a series of Instagram stories, Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe Mitchell, Y&R; Maggie Stone, AMC) shared, "We were co-stars, we were friends. We were more than friends. We were complicated at times. What never changed was my love for you, Billy. I'll always love you, Billy."

Hendrickson went on to recall Miller's 2010 Daytime Emmy win when the actor rented out a penthouse in Las Vegas to celebrate the occasion. "I was so proud of you that night. It was so well deserved."

"I'll also remember the quiet moments. The soft and beautiful side of you. The person who always had my back even after everything we went through -- If I ever needed anything I know I could have just called or sent a text. I'm really going to miss you BJ. I hope that you're throwing heaven the most epic party and lighting it up like you did on this earth."

Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher, Y&R): "Generous, passionate, fun, soulful and brilliant Billy. Can you just imagine the reunion between him and Jeanne [Cooper, Katherine Chancellor, Y&R]? I can. Rest well."

Jon Lindstrom (Kevin Collins/Ryan Chamberlain, GH): "Billy was gifted. He was also good-natured, smart, funny, and always impressed me as a great friend to those close to him. He didn't blink when I asked him to put on his shirt to help raise up the marginalized artists in our industry. He always seemed to have his heart in the right place and I always laughed when I was around him."

Kathleen Gati (Liesl Obrecht, GH): "I am beyond sad to hear this tragic news. #BillyMiller was always so kind, professional and a wonderfully talented colleague." In a subsequent post she added, "#BillyMiller was always kind, gracious, professional, courteous, friendly, generous. Adored by his fans and colleagues. As I recall, he installed and paid for a fully equipped gym in a space at the studio so everyone could use it. I can't say enough nice things about him."
