John J. York had some good news for his fans, as he shared an important update about his cancer journey and revealed a possible timetable for his return to General Hospital.

Good news for fans of General Hospital's John J. York (Mac Scorpio) who announced in a video message back in September that he'd been diagnosed with cancer. On Friday, December 22, York took to X, the site formerly known as Twitter, with a video message to share an important health update following his bone marrow transplant in November.

In his latest video, York is in good spirits and sporting a bald head as he jokes that he knows what everyone is thinking. "Why did Mac shave his beard?" he asked with a chuckle. After he breaks the ice, he reveals that he's been doing quite well, but he's still in the middle stages of his treatment and has a long road ahead of him. However, he assured his followers that test results looked good and -- just as important -- that he was feeling good.

"Hopefully, hopefully -- if things go the way they are -- maybe be back on the show late spring, early summer," he said. He also took the opportunity to thank everyone for their support, encouragement, and all the love they have sent his way. "One day at a time, one day at a time, we're gonna take care of this," York added. He concludes his video by wishing everyone a very merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year before rubbing his bald head for luck.

The show has explained York's absence by having Mac's wife, Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner), reveal that Mac is currently in Argentina, working on a hush-hush assignment. However, Felicia has recently become suspicious of Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) and his claim that the paternity test that he and Mac took earlier this year had ruled Mac out as Cody's biological father.

Should the writers wait until John J. York returns to have everyone find out that Cody Bell is his son? Keep sending your well wishes to York for continued healing.
