One Life to Live actor Nic Robuck has landed a role in a new indie film. Robuck will play a character that may sound a lot like his OLTL role, James Ford, but Robuck says there's a difference.

Fans of Nic Robuck (James Ford) will soon get to see him on the big screen. Robuck has landed his first leading role in the feature film, A Dark Plan, an independent crime drama/thriller.

"I play the lead character, Shane Dempsey, a sociopath who had a horrible upbringing. He will do anything for the love of others... even kill if he's desperate enough!" Robuck revealed to Soaps In Depth magazine.

OLTL fans might notice the parallel between James Ford and Shane Dempsey's dysfunctional childhoods, but that's where the similarities end. "Shane has much deeper, darker-rooted issues and isn't quite stable," Robuck added.

Robuck is excited to be working with director, Armand Mastroianni, whom Robuck considers to be an actor's director. "Our professional relationship is off to a great start," Robuck adds. Rounding out the cast are two other daytime alumni, Michael Nouri (Caleb Cooney, All My Children) and Nia Peeples (ex-Karen Winters, The Young and the Restless). Kelly Lynch from The L Word is also slated to star alongside Robuck.

Robuck anticipates A Dark Plan to be a fast-paced set, much like his work on OLTL was. He will be in nearly every scene of the movie, so he will be on set every day. The workload doesn't scare him.

"Thanks to Frank Valentini and my opportunity on OLTL, I am well trained and can more than handle the shooting schedule," Robuck explained.

Robuck played James Ford from June 2010 to January 2012.
