Frank Parker: A Brief Biography
At A Glance
Frank Parker was born in Darby, Pennsylvania on July 1, 1939. After getting his Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Acting from the Carnegie-Mellon University, in Pittsburgh, he pursued a diverse career in both films and television.
An accomplished singer, Frank has the honor of being part of classic television, making regular performances on the famed, Arthur Godfrey and His Friends from 1950 to 1956. In 1957, Frank also appeared as panelist on TV's Masquerade Party. But the golden age of TV was just the beginning as he moved to guest appearance on the 60's comedy favorite Gomer Pyle. Throughout the 1970's, Frank would continue on TV favorites such as S.W.A.T., Baa Baa Black Sheep, Wonder Woman, Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, Battlestar Gallactica and CHiPS. In addition, Frank was featured in made for TV movies Just a Little Inconvenience in 1977, and The Other Victim in 1981. By the 1980's Frank continued on TV appearing on Buck Rogers: in The 25th Century, The Fall Guy and Crazy Like a Fox.
His feature film credits include Midway, and The Concorde: Airport '79. Elvis fans may have recognized him in his work with the King of Rock & Roll: 'Elvis and His Girls and Stay Away Joe.
He came to Daytime TV as Paddy Kelly on General Hospital in 1980. However, Frank has become most familiar to fans of daytime since he joined the cast of Days of our Lives in 1983, appearing regularly as the Brady Family Patriarch, Shawn Brady, Sr. His other daytime credits include All My Children, Never Too Young, One Life to Live and The Young and the Restless.
Frank has been married and has twin daughters: Lindsay and Danielle, and a daughter, Candace, who is deceased.
