The wait is over! The Young and the Restless will be back up and running with all-new episodes starting next week.

If you've been restlessly waiting for new episodes of The Young and the Restless to return to the airwaves, your wait is almost over. The CBS soap has announced that it will resume airing all-new episodes starting Monday, August 10.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, The Young and the Restless was forced to halt production back in March. At the time, the show had about a month of unaired, new material, and the last time viewers saw an original episode of Y&R was way back on April 23. Since that time, The Young and the Restless has aired weeks of episodes curated to a particular theme or spotlighting a particular character or family.

The first week of Y&R's throwback episodes was dedicated to iconic Genoa City matriarch Katherine Chancellor (played by the late Jeanne Cooper). Its second theme week kicked off on Monday, May 4, and featured Victor and Nikki's love story. Y&R's third week of themed episodes began on May 11 and centered on the show's infamous grudges and rivalries. Its fourth week, which began on May 18, focused on the iconic Winters family. Its fifth week began on May 25 and featured some of the show's best villains, while its sixth week, which started on June 1, was dedicated to the Abbott family. Its seventh week of throwback moments began on June 8 and was dedicated to romantic moments, while its eighth week, which began on June 15, saw some of the soap's best weddings. Its ninth week of throwback episodes celebrated the fact that the Daytime Emmy Awards were airing on June 26 and featured some of Y&R's Emmy-winning moments. Its tenth week kicked off on June 29 and focused on Paul and Christine's romance. Y&R's eleventh theme week began on Monday, July 6, and was dedicated to fun summer moments. The CBS soap's twelfth themed week, which kicked off on July 13, focused on the Fisher/Baldwin family, while its lucky thirteenth week, which began on July 20, was dedicated to fan favorite moments -- including the series' 1973 premiere. Y&R's 14th week of classic moments was dedicated to the Newman family. For its final week of classic episodes, Y&R is airing some of the show's biggest OMG moments.

Y&R was the second of the four soaps to return to production. The Bold and the Beautiful, the first scripted program in the United States to resume production, began airing new episodes on July 20 -- four weeks after resuming production. General Hospital returned to work on July 22, but it will be airing new episodes this week. Days of our Lives isn't set to report back to work until September 1.

So, what's on tap when Y&R does make its long-awaited return? Victor and Nikki's family will be threatened by a secret, Billy and Lily will navigate their new partnership with a shocking scandal brewing, Phyllis and Abby's rivalry heats up, and Sharon's family continues to rally around her during her brave battle with cancer.
