Brief Character History
R.J. is the illegitimate son of Brooke and Ridge, the first child they have had together (although Brooke was pregnant by Ridge before her other children were born, that first baby was miscarried). R.J. Forrester was almost named Dominick Marone Jr. At the time he was conceived, Brooke had slept with both Ridge and Nick and was uncertain as to who the father of her baby was. When a paternity test proved Nick to be the father, Brooke annulled her marriage to Ridge, and soon became engaged to Nick. On the day of their wedding, Nick and Massimo were arrested by the FBI, and Ridge convinced Brooke to give him another shot. R.J. was born in Brooke's bedroom while Ridge and Brooke were trying to make love to seal their new engagement. Shortly after his birth, Nick showed up, and told Ridge and Brooke that Ridge was the father, not he. A third paternity test proved this to be true, and the baby was named Ridge Forrester Jr., and soon nicknamed R.J. by his half-brother Thomas.
