All My Children
Everyone was shocked when David Hayward collapsed during Caleb's party. Jake quickly confirmed that David had died. Jake suspected foul play because of some trauma to David's head, so Jesse declared the Yacht Club a crime scene. An autopsy was ordered to determine what had killed David. Liza was appointed the interim District Attorney, so she began to investigate the events leading up to David's murder. Colby was hesitant to tell anyone about the fight that she and Asher had witnessed between David and Ryan. Asher panicked when Colby decided to confide in her mother. Colby felt betrayed when Liza explained that she needed to act on the information that Colby had given her. Later, Asher explained that the police make him uncomfortable because he had gotten into a few scrapes with the law in the past. Marissa received a voicemail message from father, promising to work on their relationship. After Marissa erased the message, Krystal broke the news to her daughter that David had died. Ryan feared that he might have been responsible for David's death, so he went to the police to confess. Kendall was arrested for destroying evidence after she stole Liza's briefcase, which held incriminating evidence against Ryan and Greenlee. Angie was heartbroken when her vision didn't return after twenty-four hours. The doctor confirmed that Angie was legally blind. Scott and Annie decided to return to Pine Valley when they learned of David's murder. Natalia warned Madison to stop leaning on Frankie because he was a married man.

As the World Turns
As Luke awaited Reid's triumphant return from Bay City, Margo and Tom informed Bob that Reid had been in a terrible train accident. Reid arrived at Memorial, but his injuries were beyond repair. With great difficulty, Reid indicated that he wanted Luke to have his power of attorney and Chris to have his heart. Though Luke found it almost impossible to accept, he followed through with Reid's dying wishes. Lily and Holden traveled to New York on Luke's behalf to get Reid's Uncle Angus' permission to bury his nephew. At Alison's suggestion, Noah helped Luke cope with Reid's death, and by the pond, Luke, Noah, Lily, and Holden gathered to spread Reid's ashes. Chris awakened, anxious to see Reid. Upon overhearing someone in the hall discussing Reid's death with Luke, Chris confronted Katie about the donated heart. Katie revealed that he'd received Reid's heart during the transplant operation. A guilt-ridden Chris refused to accept that Reid had died because of him, but Katie demanded that Chris repay Reid with life-long joy and happiness. Lily shunned Lucinda's attempt to console Luke and the family, and John caught Lucinda planning a preemptive strike against Lily, who'd acquired an uncomfortable number of Worldwide shares. He implored Lucinda change the direction of the combative relationship with her daughter, and Lucinda anonymously left flowers on Lily's doorstep.

What happened during the week of
Katie and Hope tried to unite Liam and Bill, but it was awkward, and Bill resisted. Katie tried to talk some sense into Bill, and Liam left. Liam took Hope to the beach, where the two shared some alone time. Liam told Hope that he was crazy about her, but Hope admitted her heart belonged to Oliver. Jackie barged in on Owen and Bridget's bonding time with their newborn son, Logan. Jackie alarmed both Owen and Bridget as she continued to say, "my baby," when she held Logan. Jackie also wanted to rename the child. All the Logans and Forresters greeted Logan. Bridget admitted to Rick and Brooke that she was falling in love with Owen. Rick visited Jackie alone, and told her that she was making a mistake in thinking that Owen would stay with her rather than with Bridget and his newborn son. Rick flirted with Jackie, kissed her, and said that he hoped he was available when she left Owen. Stephanie recommended that Bridget move away from Owen and Jackie because Logan was Bridget's son, not Jackie's baby.

What happened during the week of
Family, friends, and foe sat vigil at the hospital waiting for news on E.J.'s fate. Stefano was outraged that E.J. had named Sami as his health care proxy. Stefano told Kate that he was certain Sami had shot E.J. with the gun kept at the house. Rafe continued to support Sami's alibi, unaware that she actually had shot E.J. Will confronted Sami and told her that he had seen her at DiMera mansion the night E.J. was shot, and she'd been holding what looked like a gun. Sami admitted to Will that she'd shot E.J., but he covered for her when Rafe questioned them. Kate worried that her phone call to warn Sami that E.J. planned to run away with the children had fueled Sami to go after him. Nathan seemed suspicious of Ian's frequent visits to the apartment. Stephanie convinced Ian to find out if Philip had changed Chloe's paternity test results. Vivian forced a nervous Gus to test the audio and visual in the sarcophagus. Gus warned Vivian to abandon her plan before it backfired. Nathan and Chloe had an uncomfortable conversation about her one-night stand. Chloe confessed to Carly that Vivian had instigated the entire elevator accident that was meant to kill Carly. Later, Carly confronted Vivian and warned that she would be watching Vivian's every move. Melanie tried to convince Maggie to postpone her cruise, and suggested that perhaps the reason that Maggie planned to leave Salem was due to unresolved feelings for Victor.

Sonny managed to get Brenda to safety when the Balkan's men made a move to kidnap her. Sonny was surprised to learn that Brenda was engaged to Murphy. Brenda was stunned when Sonny admitted that he had jumped bail. Sonny opened up to Brenda about shooting Dante and planting a bomb in Johnny's car. Brenda didn't think less of Sonny, but she urged him to return to Port Charles for the sake of his children. Carly suspected that the only reason that Sonny had returned to Port Charles was because Brenda had refused to live on the run with him. Jason was certain that Ronnie had something to do with Johnny's missing gun after Jason learned that Ronnie had been nearby at the time of the shooting. Robin was shocked to find Emma's favorite stuffed toy in a beaker of boiling water in the lab. Robin angrily confronted Lisa and then punched her. Steve was forced to suspend Robin. Robin packed up Emma and then moved in with Mac. Patrick persuaded Robin that they had to work together to deal with Lisa. Patrick and Robin staged a fight in the park for Lisa's benefit. Lucky was recruited to work for Interpol by going undercover as the Balkan's assassin, Ronan O'Reilly. Agent Bates revealed that Ronan, who looked exactly like Lucky, had been killed in a car accident. Two men grabbed Brenda as she was about to head to a Cartullo event. Michael was uncomfortable when one of Kristina's friends tried to get him into the pool at the country club. It didn't escape Kristina's notice how Michael cringed when her friend had touched her brother.

Jessica's guilty conscience drove her to confess to Brody that he might not be the father of the baby. Brody quickly figured out that Ford had taken advantage of Jessica after the prom. Things turned violent when Brody confronted Ford about sleeping with Jessica. Langston was horrified to realize that Ford could be the father of Jessica's child. Natalie was tempted to tell John about her one-night stand with Brody, but changed her mind when Marty stopped by to talk to John about Eli's death. Marty admitted that she was happy that John had a chance to be a father again. Kelly was upset when John broke the news that Eli had died in a fire. Kelly wished that she could have had the opportunity to confront her mother's killer. Kelly broke the news to Blair that Téa had passed away. Blair immediately rushed to Dani's side. Greg let Todd know that Téa had changed her mind about not seeing Todd and Dani before she had died. Someone sent a text message to Greg, warning him to stop talking. Greg tried to confide to Marty about what he had done, but in the end he couldn't risk being found out for fear that those he cared about would pay the price. Greg was stunned to find someone waiting for him in Téa's room at the hospice. John warned Todd that Ross might make an appearance. Todd wondered if Eli and Ross were in cahoots. Todd and Dani were hit hard when they received an urn containing Téa's ashes. Starr and Cole continued to drift apart because of James, and because of Cole's decision to keep quiet about Eli. Clint asked Inez out on a date.

Ashley confronted Jack and asked him if he'd helped Abby with her lawsuit. Jack feigned innocence. Victor threatened to dismantle Abby's trust to teach her a lesson. Victor was furious to hear that Victoria was pregnant and planned to marry Billy. Victor asked Nikki to help him stop the wedding, but Nikki helped Victoria plan a quickie wedding instead. Nick reluctantly walked Victoria down the aisle, but Victor refused to attend the event. Phyllis took Deacon to the wedding, which upset Nick. Just as Victoria and Billy finished their vows, two police officers arrested Victoria for breaking international laws in Japan; Victor turned Victoria in to the authorities as a way to try to stop the wedding. Chloe divulged to Chance that Ronan was his brother. Meeks and Owen ordered Ronan to lure Chance into a trap at a warehouse, so Ronan could kill Chance. Ronan followed the orders and shot Chance. Meanwhile, Chloe also told Nina that Ronan was her son. Nina, Paul, Chloe, and Heather found Chance lying dead in the warehouse.
