Liza decided to drop the charges against Erica, for shooting David, after a talk with Tad. The National Transportation Safety Board ruled that Zach's plane crash had been a result of a malfunctioning fuel selector valve. Later, the NTSB agent called a mystery person to report that the investigation into Zach's plane crash had been closed and that no one, including Ryan, would be looking into it anymore. Ryan admitted to Kendall that he had thought that Zach's crash might have been intentional. Kendall was relieved when Ryan told her the results of the NTSB report. Greenlee accepted Ryan's proposal of marriage. Kendall assured Ryan and Greenlee that she was happy for them. Scott was disappointed to learn that he would be working as a data-entry clerk at the hospital. Madison opened up to Scott about some of the problems that she had suffered in the past. Ryan was surprised when he saw Scott put his arm around Madison. David woke up from his coma. Marissa agreed to represent David to keep him from going to jail. Krystal was not happy with her daughter's decision to help David. David noticed Greenlee's engagement ring when she paid him a visit. Jackson questioned Erica's relationship with Caleb. Erica insisted that nothing was going on with Caleb, but Jackson continued to have concerns. Jackson admitted to Krystal that he feared that Erica was looking for a way out of marrying him because of her feelings for Caleb. Griffin helped Kendall to find the strength to sleep in the bedroom that she had shared with Zach.

Doctors had found a spot on Nick's lung, and they worried that it could be cancer. It forced Nick to reevaluate his cigar smoking. Doctors ruled out cancer, but Stephanie demanded that Nick stop smoking for Jack's sake. Nick admitted that he had tried and failed, but Stephanie promised he would not fail with her help. Brooke confronted Thomas about him planting a kiss on her when she was asleep on the Forrester jet. Thomas begged her to forget it and remain silent about it. Brooke said nothing to Ridge, and it bothered her to keep the secret. Amber and Tawny continued to argue about conning Liam into believing that he had fathered Amber's baby. Bill hosted a birthday party for Justin. Donna and Justin reconnected and reminisced. They kissed and agreed to revisit their relationship that had been cut short when they were young. Taylor suggested to Thomas that he had an Oedipal complex where Brooke was concerned. Thomas refused to listen to her. Thomas later shared a kiss with Madison, but he fondly recalled his kiss with Brooke.

What happened during the week of
Jane roughed up Bo to find out Hope's whereabouts, but Bo held his ground. Jennifer pumped Ben for more information about the goings-on at the prison, but seemed baffled by his response. Johnny's surgery was a success, and E.J. followed through with his promise to Sami to allow her to spend time with their children. In the meantime, Stefano revealed his vile plan to E.J. to remove Rafe from Sami, Johnny, and Sydney's lives forever. E.J. convinced Stefano that his marriage to Nicole would be a means to an end and fit perfectly into their plan. Chad visited Johnny in the hospital. Kate and Rafe were suspicious of Stefano and E.J.'s behavior. Melanie told Daniel, Maggie, and Brady that she was pregnant with Philip's child. Philip learned the good news and begged Melanie to take him back. Daniel told a stunned Carly about Melanie's pregnancy just after Carly warned Philip to stay away from Melanie. Rafe approved of Gabi and Will's budding romance. Daniel rebuffed Chloe and told her it was over between them. Chloe went off on Caroline for ruining her life. Nathan told Maggie that he still loved Melanie and wanted a relationship with her. Nathan was devastated when Melanie told him that she was pregnant and that they could never be together. Maggie told Victor to release Vivian and Gus from the island or to forget about a friendship or anything more with her. Brady called it quits with Nicole. Victor ordered Brady to get Vivian and Gus back to Salem.

What happened during the week of
Brenda told Theo about the circumstances of Aleksander's death and Dante's decision to dispose of the body. Theo assumed that Dante had confided everything to Lulu, so he talked to Lulu about the cover-up. Lulu ended things with Dante because she felt that she couldn't trust him. Sonny and Brenda remained determined to get married on February 18th, despite pleas from Jason and Dante to postpone the wedding. Jason was certain that the Balkan would make a move against Brenda on the special day. Theo called a mystery person to arrange for Brenda to be abducted on her wedding day. Theo manipulated Sonny into hiring Claire to work on the wrongful death lawsuit after Theo learned of Sonny's brief affair with Claire. Diane legally procured the evidence that Carly needed to prove that Dante had fathered Brenda's child. Carly decided to wait until the wedding ceremony to share the information with Sonny. Elizabeth proved to be a thorn in Brook's side as things heated up between Brook and Nikolas. Abby falsely confessed to being a prostitute in the hopes of driving Michael away. Michael insisted that he didn't judge Abby, but Abby refused to continue to see him. Sam talked to Dr. Lee about a fertility procedure that might make it possible for Sam to have a baby. Terrell volunteered to work in the AIDS wing to impress Robin. Lisa was pleased to see Robin warming up to Terrell. Siobhan met with one of the Balkan's henchmen, who allowed Siobhan to talk to her kidnapped sister, Megan.

At the sentencing hearing, Nate admitted that he had been lying to save his mother. The judge eventually decided to drop the charges against Nate. Bo and Nora questioned Inez. Inez denied killing Eddie, but she confessed that she had drugged Bo and then lied about them having sex. Inez revealed that Clint had forced her to break up Bo and Nora's marriage. Inez was arrested for drugging Bo. Clint found himself staring down the barrel of a gun when Bo confronted Clint about hiring Eddie to abduct Nora. Nora managed to talk Bo down before he shot Clint. John found Marty in the hospital's nursery with the baby. Marty was taken to St. Anne's for treatment for her breakdown. Cris discovered more clues about the portrait of Blair. The trail led Cris and Blair to Paris, where Cris bumped into Layla. Cris decided to tell Layla about waking up with Blair on New Year's Day. Layla admitted that she had slept with her boss. Blair tracked down the artist who had painted her portrait. Joey believed Aubrey and Cutter's lies about being siblings, but Kelly continued to have her doubts. Aubrey wasn't pleased when Cutter decided to keep tabs on Kelly by wooing her. Kelly questioned Ford about Aubrey and Cutter's relationship when she learned that Ford had a history with Aubrey. Ford admitted that Aubrey had never mentioned that she had a brother, but Ford had only spent a short time with Aubrey. Vimal told his wife, Rama, about everything that Clint had ordered him to do.

Nina told Paul that Chance was alive and in Witness Protection Program. Nina convinced Ronan to stay in Genoa City. Nick's petition for sole custody was denied and Sharon was able to share time with Faith. Victor plotted to overturn the judge's ruling. Billy and Victoria bonded with Lucy and introduced the baby to Nick, Nikki, and Abby. Daniel held Lucy and remembered delivering Daisy's baby in the car. Kay confronted Colin about his criminal past. Colin proposed to Jill, and she said yes. Cane warned Blake to keep away from Lily. Sofia offered to keep the James Collier illusion alive so Cane could pay off his blackmailers. Kevin took Jana to the revival movie house, and she remembered being abducted. Kevin resisted Jana's attempts to seduce him. Chloe was frustrated because she and Kevin were unable to be together romantically. Adam was released from jail and moved in with Sharon. A government agent questioned Sharon about Skye's disappearance in Hawaii. When new evidence was uncovered, Sharon was arrested for Skye's murder.
