Rick insisted that, if Ivy liked her job, she'd keep his and Maya's secret. While Maya daydreamed of being the Forrester matriarch, Caroline finally penetrated Rick's icy armor with a kiss. Ivy asked Liam if he wanted to be with Hope. Liam declared that Hope was married, and he was with Ivy. Wyatt struggled to grieve for his child while his marriage hung in the balance. Quinn and Deacon urged Wyatt to go to Italy so he and Hope could heal together. Forrester volunteered on Skid Row for Christmas.

Nicole talked her way of a jam when Melanie caught her in Serena's hotel room. Kimberly told Paige that Shane would be fine. J.J. had a huge fight with Eve for lying to Paige about Shane. In the heat of the moment, Eve and J.J. had wild sex again. Paul talked to Will about his lost love. Will did not know Sonny was Paul's ex-lover, and Sonny had no idea Paul was the subject of Will's article. Lucas helped Adrienne get back her Christmas spirit. Paige blasted Eve for trying to keep her and J.J. apart. Theresa was upset when she saw how close Melanie and Brady had become. Victor was overwhelmed with his Christmas gift from Daniel and Brady. John returned home for the holidays. J.J. broke things off with a stunned Paige. Kayla warned Hope to be wary of Aiden. The Horton family placed their ornaments on the tree.

Nina became upset when the judge ordered that Nina undergo a psychiatric evaluation, but Franco insisted that it was better to go to a sanitarium rather than jail. Franco was deemed a flight risk, so he was sent to Pentonville until his trial. At Pentonville, Sonny arranged for Franco to be thrown into solitary confinement. Morgan and Kiki kissed. Carlos prepared to carry out the order to kill Ric, but Shawn and Jordan arrived to rescue Ric. Ric reunited with Molly and Elizabeth. Jake was hurt when he saw Ric and Elizabeth kiss. Elizabeth confided to Epiphany that she was conflicted about her feelings for Jake. After a talk with Ric, Jake decided to move out of Elizabeth's home. Maxie was stunned when Judge Walters reversed his decision by allowing Maxie unlimited visitation with Georgie, unaware that Nathan had interceded by asking for Liesl's help. Maxie and Nathan exchanged Christmas presents before Maxie left to spend Christmas Eve with Georgie. Judge Walters explained to Monica why he had been hard on Maxie. DNA tests revealed that Sonny was the father of Ava's baby. Patrick and Sam kissed under the mistletoe. Julian learned that the impostor had been in cahoots with Faison to keep everyone in the dark about Luke's captivity. The impostor ordered Julian to kill Jordan for her role in helping Ric to escape. Anna offered Jordan a job with the Port Charles Police Department to remain undercover and go to work for Duke. Jordan realized that Anna was determined to take down Duke.

Faith turned up at Crimson Lights, and Sharon and Nick put their differences aside to make Christmas a happy one for their daughter. Victor and Joe secretly worked together on the redevelopment project. It was considered a Christmas miracle when the electricity remained on at Crimson Lights during a power outage, and friends and family gathered at the coffeehouse to celebrate. Billy was upset when Victoria wanted Katie to have the Newman name. Victoria arranged for Stitch to talk to Max on Christmas. Phyllis warmed up to Austin after he gave her a video summarizing what had happened in Genoa City during her coma. Neil remained mum when he was able to see a candle flicker. Devon presented Hilary with an eternity ring, which she agreed to keep hidden until they could be together. Victor learned that the formulas Tobias had stolen from Jabot were bogus. Ashley and Joe discussed their previous relationship, and they made plans to spend New Year's Eve together. Michael quit as Joe's attorney. Constance told Adam and Sage that Gabriel's father had committed suicide after Victor orchestrated a hostile takeover of the Bingham family business, and she requested that "Gabriel" make Victor suffer. Constance's health took a turn for the worse. Jack threatened to turn Adam in to the cops, but Adam contended that if he went to prison, so would Billy.
