Kimberly Alexis Bledel, an American actress and model, was born on September 16, 1981. She is best known for playing Rory Gilmore in the television series Gilmore Girls. Bledel's first television role was also her breakout role, for which she received numerous awards and nominations. She began her acting career in 1996, but her official debut came in 1998 with a role in the film Rushmore, followed by her breakout role in Gilmore Girls in 2000.
She played the role for seven years, till the series ended in 2007, and Bledel also appeared in a number of other productions. During that time, over a half-dozen films were released, including Sin City, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, Zoom, Life is Short, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2, and others. However, after her run on Gilmore Girls ended, she only took on other television roles, appearing in ER, Mad Men, Us and Them, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, and The Handmaid's Tale. The latter earned her a number of awards and nominations, including four Primetime Emmys, one of which she won in 2017.
