Cast of Kraven the Hunter

The 2024 American superhero movie Kraven the Hunter is based on the character of the same name from the Marvel Comics. The film was directed by J. C. Chandor, based on a screenplay by Richard Wenk, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway. Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays the titular character. The movie also features Russell Crowe, Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, and Christopher Abbott.

The movie is the sixth installment in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU) and was produced by Columbia Pictures in collaboration with Marvel Entertainment. The movie explores Kraven's journey to become the best hunter as well as his connection with his father. Kraven the Hunter was released in the United States on December 13, 2024, after two years of delays.

The English actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays the main character of Sergei Kravinoff / Kraven in the film. He characterized his portrayal of the role as an "animal lover," a "protector of the natural world," and an apex predator and conservationist. Levi Miller portrays the young Sergei.

Johnson is best known for playing the title role in Kick-Ass (2010) and its follow-up in 2013, as well as for playing Pietro Maximoff in Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), another character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ariana DeBose as Calypso Ezili

The American actress and singer Ariana DeBose portrays Calypso Ezili in the film. Calypso is a voodoo priestess and Kraven’s love interest. Diana Babnicova plays the young Calypso.

Fred Hechinger as Dmitri Kravinoff / Chameleon

The American actor Fred Hechinger portrays Dmitri Kravinoff in the film. Kravinoff is Kraven's estranged half-brother who is a master of disguise. Billy Barratt portrays the young Dmitri.

Fred Hechinger began his career with supporting roles in movies including The Woman in the Window (2021), the period drama News of the World (2020), and the coming-of-age film Eighth Grade (2018). He also featured in the first season of the HBO anthology series The White Lotus and the Netflix horror thriller The Fear Street Trilogy in 2021.

Alessandro Nivola as Aleksei Sytsevich / Rhino

The American actor Alessandro Nivola portrays Aleksei Sytsevich in the film. Sytsevich is a Russian mercenary who can transform into a human-rhino hybrid.

Renowned for his roles in theatre and television, Alessandro Nivola has won a television Actors Guild Award and has been nominated for multiple Tony Awards and Independent Spirit Awards.

Christopher Abbott as the Foreigner

The American actor Christopher Abbott portrays the Foreigner in the film. Aleksei recruited the Foreigner as an assassin. His incredible speed and fighting prowess are similar to Solo's teleportation and skill sets.

Christopher Abbott is known for his work in independent films. He received a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead for the drama film James White (2015).

Russell Crowe as Nikolai Kravinoff

Russell Crowe portrays Nikolai Kravinoff in the film. Nikolai Kravinoff is Kraven's estranged father, and a ruthless crime lord and drug trafficker.

Crowe was born in New Zealand, lived in Australia for eleven years as a child, and by the time he was 21, he had made Australia his permanent home. He has received numerous honors for his work on screen, including a British Academy Film Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and an Academy Award.
