Kraven the Hunter is the latest installment in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. This origin movie, directed by J. C. Chandor is the 6th movie in the franchise and serves as the origin story of the vicious hunter Kraven, and how he received his title in becoming the greatest hunter of all time. Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays the role of Sergei Kravinoff aka Kraven who aims to be the greatest hunter there ever lived and is the protagonist of the movie. Calypso Ezili, played by Ariana DeBose is a Voodoo priestess and the love interest of Kraven. Fred Hechinger plays the role of Dmitri Kravinoff aka the Chameleon, who is Kraven’s half-brother and is another one of Marvel’s iconic villains.
The movie also features actor Alessandro Nivola as Rhino, one of the main antagonists who goes against Kraven in the movie. This version of Rhino is a shapeshifting hybrid version between a human and a rhino, which replaces the ideologies of a mechanical Rhino featured in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The movie also shows Golden Globe winner Russell Crowe as Kraven’s father Nikolai Kravinoff who is a crime lord and has a complex relationship with Kraven.
