Fernanda Pinheiro Monteiro Torres, better known as Fernanda Torres, is a Brazilian actress and writer, known for both her comedic and dramatic roles. She was born in Rio de Janeiro to actors Fernando Torres and Fernanda Montenegro. Torres has won multiple accolades, including Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for Love Me Forever or Never (1986).
Torres became the first Portuguese-speaking actor from Brazil and Latin America to win the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her critically acclaimed performance as Eunice Paiva in the drama film I'm Still Here (2024). She was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress, making her the second Brazilian actress to be nominated in this category after her mother. Her first book, The End, sold more than 200,000 copies in Brazil and was converted into a miniseries. It has also been translated into seven other languages.
