How much is Bradley Whitford’s net worth?

As of March 2025, Bradley Whitford’s net worth is $10 million as per Celebrity Net Worth, and that is largely thanks to his successful career as an actor and producer. That includes recurring and award winning roles on The West Wing, The Handmaid’s Tale, Transparent and more over the years. However, despite that, no earnings have ever been publicly revealed, and thus, it is unknown how much Whitford has earned from his career as a prolific actor across film and television. That is beyond the fact that he was paid, for a certain amount of time, around $70 thousand per episode for his role on The West Wing.

Whitford and his ex-wife Jane Kaczmarek bought a house in San Marino, California, for $5.9 million and sold it when they divorced in 2010 for $6.2 million. Whitford also bought another house in Pasadena for $3.1 million and then sold it in 2021 for $3.8 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth.

Bradley Whitford’s early life and career

Bradley Whitford was born in Madison, Wisconsin, to Genevieve Louie and George Van Norman Whitford. He lived in Wayne, Pennsylvania, between the ages of three and fourteen, when his family later moved. He eventually graduated from Madison East High School in 1977 and went on to major in English and theatre at Wesleyan University. Not only that, Whitford also studied drama at the Juilliard School, earning a graduate diploma.

He eventually made his debut as an actor in 1985, acting in over a dozen film and television shows before he earned a role on The West Wing in 1999. That changed the track of his career completely as he earned his first nomination, and win, for a Primetime Emmy Award two years later in 2001. Whitford would go on to hold that role until 2006, earning two more Primetime Emmy award nominations as well as three nominations for Golden Globe awards.

In addition to his role on The West Wing, Whitford also starred in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, The Good Guys, and The Mentalist, earning critical acclaim for all three roles. He also starred in the horror film Get Out, The Post and several other movies over the years. Whitford then won his second Primetime Emmy award for his role in Transparent in 2015 and earned his fifth nomination for his role as Magus Hirschfeld in the same series.

He continued acting in both film and television, earning critical acclaim for his roles on the small screen, including Happyish, Mom, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and more. Whitford then earned his third Primetime Emmy award in 2019 for his role in The Handmaid’s Tale, a role he has held since 2018, the first of his three nominations for the series.

Not only that, Whitford has been nominated for nine Screen Actors Guild Awards (6 for West Wing, 1 for Get Out, and two for The Handmaid’s Tale), winning two in 2001 and 2002.
