The American actor and musician Michael C. Hall has been married to Morgan Macgregor since 2016. The couple began dating back in 2012. This is Hall’s third marriage. He had been previously married to Amy Spanger (2002 to 2006) and later, Jennifer Carpenter ( 2008 to 2011).


Hall is best recognised for his roles as David Fisher in the HBO drama series Six Feet Under and the title character in the Showtime series Dexter. He earned six nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, which ties the record for the most nominations in the category without a win. He has won a Golden Globe Award and three Screen Actors Guild Awards.

In November 2018, he called his marriage to Macgregor "great." In keeping with her literary career, he also referred to Macgregor as a "great reader" who has offered input on his roles and scripts.


Morgan Macgregor is a writer and book reviewer. According to her Book Riot biography, Macgregor is originally from Ontario, Canada, but she has also lived in Los Angeles. Macgregor has reviewed works of fiction for The Paris Review, BookBrowse, and Book Riot. She was the editor of the Los Angeles Review of Books for a while. As per her BookBrowse bio, she had previously stated that she was interested in starting a bookstore.


After reading Jonathan Franzen's 2002 collection of essays, How to Be Alone, Macgregor revealed she is a fan of the author and has expressed her love for modern American fiction. "I'm obsessed with it," Macgregor declared on Book Riot in September 2012. "I watch him on Charlie Rose … and it's solidified: I love Jonathan Franzen."


Although Macgregor is not as experienced as her husband, she did make appearances on television throughout her childhood in Canada. As a teenager, Macgregor wrote about "obsessing" with boy bands Hanson and The Moffatts in an essay for The Paris Review in 2012.

Michael C. Hall was first married to the American actress, singer, and dancer Amy Spanger in 2002. In 2006, the couple got divorced. Hall started dating Jennifer Carpenter, his co-star on Dexter, in 2007. They eloped in California on New Year's Eve 2008, and in January 2009, they made their first public appearance as a married couple at the 66th Golden Globe Awards.


Hall and Carpenter announced in a statement in December 2010 that they had been separated "for some time" and had filed for divorce. The two are still close friends despite the divorce, which was issued in December 2011 due to irreconcilable differences.
