The American action thriller film, The Accountant 2, is releasing theatrically in the United States on April 25, 2025. The film had its premiere at the South by Southwest Festival on March 8, 2025.


The Accountant 2 is a sequel to The Accountant (2016) and is directed by Gavin O'Connor and written by Bill Dubuque. Daniella Pineda and Allison Robertson (who takes Alison Wright's place) join the cast, while Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, and J. K. Simmons return for their roles.

The Accountant 2 will be released theatrically in the U.S. on April 25, 2025. The film’s trailer was released on Amazon MGM Studios YouTube channel on February 13, 2025. The Accountant's sequel was revealed in June 2017. Warner Bros. Pictures sold the distribution rights to Amazon MGM Studios in February 2024.


The story revolves around Christian Wolff, a forensic accountant who works with his estranged yet extremely deadly brother to find assassins. J. K. Simmons, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Jon Bernthal, and Ben Affleck return to their roles from the last movie, while Daniella Pineda and Allison Robertson (who take Alison Wright's position) are also set to feature.

The main character in the film is Christian Wolff / The Accountant who is played by the American actor and filmmaker Ben Affleck in both films.


As a child, Affleck starred in The Voyage of the Mimi, a PBS educational series that ran from 1984 to 1988. Later, he starred in several Kevin Smith movies, including Chasing Amy (1997), as well as the independent comedy Dazed and Confused (1993). He gained fame after he and Matt Damon co-wrote and co-starred in Good Will Hunting (1997), which won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. His honors include two Academy Awards, two BAFTA Awards, and three Golden Globes.
