Clinton Pugh and Deborah Mackin are Florence Pugh’s parents. Her father, Clinton Pugh, is a restaurateur, and her mother, Deborah Mackin, was an aerobics instructor and a trained ballet dancer. Her parents met each other during an aerobics class in England. They settled down in Oxfordshire, England, and have 4 children together– Florence, Arabella, Rafaela, and Toby. Her father owns many restaurants in Oxfordshire, England.

As teenagers, Florence and her siblings used to work in their father’s restaurants. In an interview with Vogue, she talked about the time she used to bartend at her father’s restaurant. She said, “There's an enormous amount of power when you're behind a bar.” She further mentioned her interest in cooking because of her parents. She said, “Cooking has been a huge part of my life.
