Jeremy Strong is an American actor who was born on December 25, 1978, in Boston, Massachusetts. When he was 10 years old, his family moved to Sudbury. He joined a children's theatre group where he performed in many musicals. He graduated from Yale University and after graduation, he studied acting at both the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. He started with small roles in films and TV before becoming a major star. He first performed on stage in 2006, in the Broadway production, Defiance. He made his film debut in 2008 with Humboldt County.

Jeremy is best known for his role as Kendall Roy in the hit TV series Succession (2018-2023). Jeremy Strong’s parents

Jeremy Strong was born to David Strong and Maureen Strong. His father, David, worked in juvenile justice; he helped troubled young people find a better path in life. His mother, Maureen, was a hospice nurse, providing care and comfort to patients in their final stages of life. Jeremy has often spoken about how their values shaped him into the person he is today. Strong grew up in a middle-class family in Boston, and later they shifted to the suburbs.

His parents worked hard to provide for their children, ensuring they had a stable upbringing. In an interview with The New Yorker, he said, “My parents felt tremendous economic pressure, just trying to survive and tread water.” he added, “Often, it was somewhere I just wanted to get out of.”

He shared a close bond with his father. In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, he recalled how his father saved his life when he was 8 years old. He said, "There was a car coming, like, 40 miles an hour that wasn't slowing down for the traffic light." He added, "So, he picked me up and he threw me outta the way. And he got hit by the car, broke all the bones in both of his legs. Saved my life."

Jeremy Strong’s wife and daughters

Jeremy Strong is married to Emma Wall. Emma is a Danish psychiatrist and a documentary filmmaker. The couple met in 2012 at a party in New York during Hurricane Sandy and quickly connected. After dating for a few years, they got married in 2016 in Denmark. Their wedding was at a castle, Dragsholm Slot, surrounded by their close family and friends.

In an interview with GQ, he said, “My life has changed a lot in the sense that there's some sort of stable centre.” He added, “I never had that before—I was always just kind of a transient and work was the only thing. And that feels different now, in a very good way. There’s something to come home to.” Jeremy and Emma have three daughters. Their first daughter, Ingrid, was born in 2018. Their second daughter Clara, was born in 2021, and their third daughter arrived in 2023. They haven’t shared their youngest daughter’s name publicly.

In 2023, during a Zoom call with climate emergency fund donors, he talked about his daughters. He said, “I look at them and I imagine the future that they’re going to inherit as a result of our inaction and complacency, and I feel a sort of sickening feeling and a sense of moral imperative to do anything I possibly can.”
