Martin Prince is an academically gifted student at Springfield Elementary, known for his eagerness to impress authority figures and frequent run-ins with school bullies.

Created by Matt Groening, “The Simpsons (1989)” is Fox Broadcasting Company’s animated television series centered around the Simpson family. The Simpson household consists of Homer, a nuclear plant employee; Marge, the blue-haired, caring mother; Bart, the mischievous son; Lisa, the intelligent daughter; and Maggie, the baby of the family. The show is a satirical parody of working-class American life.

“The Simpsons” originally debuted as part of “The Tracey Ullman Show” in 1987 before eventually airing as a standalone half-hour prime time program in 1989. With almost 800 episodes broadcast and a feature-length film released in 2007, the series has earned multiple prestigious accolades, including 37 Primetime Emmy Awards across various categories. The show was also recognized by “Time” magazine as "The Best TV Show" of the 20th century and was also celebrated with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Martin is a classmate of Bart Simpson and is best known for his intelligence, as well as his unwavering desire to win over his teachers. Often considered a “teacher’s pet,” his role in the series often highlights the social challenges that might be associated with being a gifted child in a chaotic school environment. His need for approval and friendship frequently met with ridicule, such as when his brief stint as a popular kid in Bart of Darkness (Season 6, Episode 1) ends with his pool exploding and his peers abandoning him.

However, Martin also surprises the viewers with moments of resilience. In “The Simpsons Movie (2007),” he stands up to his tormentors, declaring, “I’ve been taking your crap all my life!” before fighting back. Similarly, in “The Wreck of the Relationship (Season 26, Episode 2),” he pins Nelson, his longtime bully, to the ground and proclaims, “Today, I wear the vest!” Despite often being the butt of the joke, Martin’s unique charm and confidence makes him one of the iconic figures in Springfield’s ever-expanding cast.
