It was an incredibly soapalicious week in Port Charles -- baby switching, a stellar girl catfight, escaped mental patients, and a safe house where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came. Let's discuss in the week's Two Scoops!

Dearest readers, I hope you have been having a magnificent summer. I did some traveling and want to thank my fellow Two Scoopers for filling in for me in my absence. My Soap Central family is a pretty amazing group of human beings.

When I came back home, I had a plethora of GH episodes to catch up on, and they did not disappoint. Peter was freed (and then captured again)! Obrecht was convicted while Nina was spared yet another criminal conviction! (You remember Valentin covered up the Cassandra incident, right?) Jason and Franco busted Carly out of Mary Pat's evil clutches!

All such delightful, soapalicious stuff. But the soapiest of all soap storylines is the baby switch. Readers, you must give me credit. I told you when Brad and Lucas talked about their adoption that Nelle would factor in somehow, but I never considered that it would be to give her child to replace a dead baby! That caught me by surprise. When I saw Brad with their new baby Wiley, and Nelle was still pregnant, I thought to myself, "Oh, well, you guessed wrong." But by the end of the episode, I smiled the smile of contentment because I guessed correctly.

My new prediction will be that the birth mother of the dead baby will decide she wants her baby back round about November sweeps, and Brad will have to either A) give the woman Michael's baby, or B) admit the baby isn't hers, which will infuriate Lucas and the entire Spencer/Corinthos clan.

I should not have been shocked by Nelle's ease in handing her baby over to Brad, but I was. She spent so much time talking to her tummy, I thought perhaps she actually cared for the little guy. I know she and Brad are friends, but I have a lot of friends, yet none I would hand over my child to just to spite an enemy. Poor broken Nelle. Chloe Lanier has done a fantastic job on GH; she has made me hate Nelle, pity Nelle, and root for Nelle occasionally. Like Michael and Chase, I have seen glimpses of what I believed to be goodness inside of her. She will be missed on GH, but I am sure she has a long career ahead of her because I am convinced that her talent will not go unnoticed in Hollywood.

Watching Michael cradle that dead baby, crying tears for a child that didn't even belong to him, was painful to watch. Chad Duell is so expressive -- there was such tenderness in those scenes, it genuinely moved me. When he cries, I do, too. His heart was shattered, but Nelle dove right in and accused him of killing their baby. Girl, you know that baby is totally fine and taking a nap over at Brad and Lucas' house. Taunting Michael that way was nearly as evil as plotting his death.

At least we got a little comic relief with Dr. Obrecht delivering the baby. "Spread your scrawny legs and push!" Oh, Liesl, please don't be gone too long; we will miss your hijinks.

On another note, I loved when Nelle was talking about being married to Michael, and he confirmed what we savvy viewers already believed to be true -- the marriage license was signed with disappearing ink. You called it, readers! You were right! Sweet satisfaction.

What was wrong with Lucas and Brad's real baby? Was it SIDS? Will there be any sort of DNA testing. No, this is a soap. It will take a while before the baby ends up with his real dad, and Brad and Lucas have a major, life-changing fight.

I was momentarily very angry about the turn of events, a gay couple adopting a child on Daytime was a big enough story in and of itself -- that the powers that be killed the baby right as it was placed in their arms infuriated me. But at least poor Lucas will have a short-lived happiness of being a dad before he has to give the baby back to his nephew Michael. That will be a sad episode, too. I'm already crying in my mind.

I love to cry over GH. Why? It's easier than crying over the real sad things in my life. It's more controllable. It's a healthy outlet for my pent-up emotions. It's cheaper than therapy. Thank you, GH, for giving me excuses to weep on a regular basis.

Readers, I felt a slight "uh-oh" this week. It seemed like Chase was weakening. I'm starting to think that Chase is going to run off with Nelle or set her free so she doesn't have to go to prison. I think he still has a soft spot for her.

On the other hand, I get the distinct impression that the writers are considering pairing Lulu and Chase. His drunken overnighter was the test to see how the audience would respond. A SORASed Rocco poked him in the eye, and it was at least good to see Lulu's kids are still alive, since there hasn't been a sighting of them for months.

My husband, Jeff, who pretends he doesn't watch GH, said that Dante probably left town when he saw new Rocco and realized he didn't look at all Italian.

I wondered if they would recast Dante or kill him off, and I honestly can't decide which one I'd prefer. I loved Lante, and I can't see anyone but Dominic Zaprogna playing him. On the other hand, I hate to lose the character of Dante from the canvas: his ties to Olivia; being the older brother to Michael, Christina, and Avery; being Sonny's cop son -- all those factors bring depth to the show. I don't want to lose those layers of richness in storytelling from Port Charles. What do you think, readers?

And now to another character I know I shouldn't love but do, Peter August. Peter is on his way to Steinmauer, and he dropped the bombshell to Robert that Patient 6 (a.k.a. Jason) was preceded by Patients 1 to 5! What?!? Don't you wonder who they will be? Helena? Faison? Laura? Nikolas and Lucky, Emily and Rebecca? I'm so excited to see how this plays out. I really want Peter to have a way to trade what he knows for his freedom because I like Peter and Maxie together. Maxie was married to Nathan, a saint, an angel of a man, but I know she still has the capacity to love someone not quite so perfect. (She always had a soft spot for Johnny Zacharra.)

Here's my message to Robert: If you let anything happen to Peter before Anna gets the chance to reunite with him, you better run.

In other villain updates, Ava is walking around town, clutching the incriminating blanket as if her life depended on it, and perhaps it will. If Nelle decides to out Ava as her accomplice, I doubt Griffin will take kindly to that revelation. But since he is no longer a shining example of honesty himself, it will be hard for him to judge Ava's blanket stealing.

I was a bit concerned that Ava was just going to torch a yarn blanket in broad daylight in an area I have seen burn up in fires before. I'm glad Griffin's jogging path includes the slightly scary dock area.

There is a slight chance that Ava is about to do the right thing and tell the police she found the blanket to clear Carly. Is Ava capable of such a sacrificial act, knowing that Carly being free means she will potentially lose Avery again?

I think she is, but I fear that she will do the right thing and tell Griffin she's redeemed, only to find out he cheated on her with Kiki, sending her back down the path of villainy.

Nelle headed down to the docks when she escaped the easily distracted guard at GH, and I'm sure she didn't expect to see Josslyn. Readers, I know it's wrong, but, damn -- easily my favorite scene of the week. Watching Joss punch Nelle in the face was one of the most satisfying soap scenes I have seen in ages! Carly isn't in a position to confront Nelle on her own right now, so seeing Joss jump in the ring of the family fight was perfect.

Eden McCoy has a strong future as a feisty soap queen just like her Mama Carly (played by the powerhouse performer Laura Wright.) When Josslyn spat out, "You messed with the wrong family, bitch." I clapped my hands and screamed, "Yes!" Josslyn is the best of Jax and Carly -- she has Carly's fire and Jax's kindness. I can see each of them in her, and I only wish her dad was back on canvas again, since Sonny cleared him to come back into the country.

Seeing Nelle get punched wasn't my only wish come true this week; we got the great news that Genie Francis is coming back to GH this fall, and even better -- they are going to write a "Laura centric storyline" for her. I can't wait! I've watched Genie since I was a teenager; in fact, she was THE reason I got hooked on GH. I have now watched for four decades, and it started with me falling in love with the character of Laura. So happy she will be home in Port Charles soon.

Also headed back to Port Charles is Lexi Ainsworth, but it probably won't be with Parker, since Ashley Jones is going back to playing Bridget on The Bold and the Beautiful. What will bring Kristina back to town? What did she learn while she was away? I look forward to finding out and seeing the Davis girls reunited. Molly, it's time to visit your mom.

One more lovely lady heading back to GH: our beloved Donna Mills. Apparently, it's time for Nina's mom to get sprung from prison. Why is she coming to Port Charles? Probably to try to get money from Nina again. I hate to be a cynic, but anyone who would put their kid in a coma for 20 years is not to be trusted.

I also don't trust D.A. Dawson. Readers, what do you think Margaux is up to? She has the flash drive with all of Drew's memories on it, and instead of making a beeline to be the hero and deliver it to him, she's perusing them on her computer in her hotel room. Is she going to use Drew's memory flash drive to build a case against Jason Morgan and just let Drew keep wondering who he is? I think she is. I think she's trying to make a name for herself and couldn't care less about the former Navy SEAL who had his brain erased. Readers, I admit it's hard for me to look at these two actors in a scene and not call them Billy and Chloe.

Back in spy world, Finn and Robert realized what we have suspected -- Anna isn't at Robin's at all but in the clutches of someone with unknown motives. So, the next logical step was for Robert to put a dog chip in Finn and send him into danger? Um, okay. Anna would hate this whole plan. Finn has already been kidnapped, and is Robert tracking him? Nope. Robert is distracted tormenting Peter about his transfer.

Who do you think has Anna? What do they want with Finn? Is he going to operate on Patients 1 to 5? Does someone have the disease that Finn and his late wife had and need an injection of lizard serum? Has anyone but me noticed that Roxie, whom he used to talk to and about all the time, has now vanished from sight? What gives? I typically despise reptiles, but Roxie kind of grew on me.

Readers, have you noticed just how many people have visited "the safe house"? If you were the cops looking for fugitives Carly and Jason, wouldn't you be following Sonny, Josslyn, and Michael? Every time someone else came in, I just laughed. If Dante were in town, he would have caught them by now. Apparently with Nathan and Dante gone, the PCPD has no other cops who can handle deductive reasoning.

When I heard that Jason and Carly were running off to Canada for an unspecified amount of time, I sighed. Is it just me, or is the reunion with Sam and Jason taking way too long? Pull the trigger already. I was hopeful when ABC had the best moments of Jason and Sam online that it was leading up to a real reunion. Readers, if you haven't watched these episodes, you must. Seeing the old episodes and old characters makes my heart light up. If there were a GH subscription where I could watch old GH episodes all day, I'd definitely pay for it.

Curtis and Sam went to Ferncliff and tricked Mary Pat into thinking she's getting an award. Sam was able to sneak the consent form out of Carly's file, and when Mary Pat realizes she's been duped, Sam better hide, because Mary Pat will be lining her up for electroconvulsive therapy in no time.

What will happen tomorrow, dear readers? Will Laura bring back a SORASed Spencer to mix in with Cameron, Josslyn, and Oscar? Will Donna Mills still look like she's 30? Will Nina forgive Valentin, since she's now a criminal, too? Will Carly and Jason take a liking to Maple Leaf candies and Coffee Crisps while they are in Canada? Will Nelle leave Port Charles in handcuffs or in a limo? Will eleven more people come to visit Carly at the "safehouse"? Will Franco and Jason be besties now that they went on a caper together?

Only tomorrow knows, dear readers, and I will tune in tomorrow as long as there are tomorrows.
