Look for another doctor to be checking on patients at Pine Valley Hospital. Jason Pendergraft has been cast in the role of the handsome Dr. Anders, a newly created role on All My Children.
A casting breakdown for the role of Dr. Anders was issued in early April. The role was then described as a "skilled doctor whose bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired." The doctor's tough exterior masks an inner vulnerability: he recently lost his wife, and believes that he could -- and should -- have been able to save her life.
Pendergraft, who was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, earned a degree in Theater from University of Washington. He moved to New York City where he studied at the William Esper Studio for three years.
Pendergraft isn't a stranger to daytime television, but this will be his first major soap role. In 2007, Pendergraft appeared as Lance Barton on As the World Turns. In 2011, he appeared as a police officer on One Life to Live.
His primetime television credits include Law & Order, CSI: New York, Gossip Girl, Army Wives, and White Collar. Pendergraft's film credits include When Will I Be Loved and Frat Brothers of the KVL.
And finally, an interesting bit of trivia about the actor: when he's not in front of television cameras, Pendergraft is an accomplished carpenter and cabinetmaker.
