In 2005, he was cast as John Winchester, a main character on the CW series Supernatural, marking the start of his next significant recurring television series role. He continued to appear on the program until 2007. At the same time, he earned a recurring role on the popular ABC show Grey's Anatomy, which he played in 23 episodes over three seasons between 2006 and 2009.


His most well-known part to date came in 2016 when he was cast in the AMC series The Walking Dead. He made his debut on the show as Negan in the sixth season finale, and he then appeared as the main antagonist in the seventh and eighth seasons. Jeffrey's pay on "The Walking Dead" increased to $200,000 per episode starting in 2018.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s early life


Morgan was born in Seattle, Washington, on April 22, 1966, to Richard Dean Morgan and Sandy Thomas. Before graduating in 1984, he played basketball at Lake Washington High School. After that, he continued to play basketball at Skagit Valley College to make it his career.


But after suffering a leg injury that put a stop to his basketball goals, he left school to focus on his creative interests, such as painting and writing. He had never received official instruction in acting, but he decided to come to Los Angeles after spending a weekend there assisting a friend with a relocation.
