Is there a Wicked 2?

Yes, there will be a sequel to Wicked (2024), titled Wicked: For Good. The film is set to be released in theaters on November 21, 2025. Jon M. Chu shared on his Instagram about the sequel of the film, “As we tried to cut songs or trim characters, those decisions began to feel like fatal compromises to the source material that has entertained us all for so many years. So we decided to give ourselves a bigger canvas and make not just one Wicked movie, but TWO!!!! With more space, we can tell the story of Wicked as it was meant to be told while bringing even more depth and surprise to the journeys of these beloved characters.”

The sequel of the film will dig deeper into the storylines of Elphaba and Glinda, exploring the consequences of their actions and the changing dynamics of their relationship. Fans can anticipate more captivating music, detailed plot developments, and a deeper exploration of the themes introduced in the 1st part. Marc Platt, the producer of the film told NBC about the upcoming sequel and said, "The first tells how Elphaba becomes the Wicked Witch of the West, and the second tells how her best friend, Glinda, becomes authentically good.”
