Anthony Ramos is an American actor and singer who was born on November 1, 1991, in Brooklyn, New York. He attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), where he earned a scholarship and graduated in 2011. He made his TV debut in 2015 with a minor appearance in the show Younger, and his film debut in 2016 with the film White Girl, where he played the role of Kilo.

Mildred Ramos and Mario Martinez are Anthony Ramos’ parents. His mother, Mildred Ramos, raised him and his siblings alone, as his father, Mario Martinez, was not involved in his childhood. His mother worked as a biller at Jamaica Hospital and Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. In a 2021 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ramos talked about his mother and said, “She was making $30,000 a year before taxes, so that was barely 10 Gs a kid. Contesting with poverty and always seeing her stressed was hard, and there were drugs and alcohol in my family — that was hard to deal with as well.”

Ramos reconnected with his father in his 20s. On Justin Baldoni’s Man Enough podcast, he talked about growing up without his father. He said, “We struggle, just as a family, with substance abuse — you know, drugs, alcohol. Specifically with my dad, I’d always tried to stay out of the way and not get him upset. As a kid, I was like, ‘I definitely must be the problem because he’s not around, and I keep making him upset, or I keep doing things that make him mad.’”
