Annie takes Cassie see her daughter in foster care. She offers the woman money in exchange for a brief visit between mother and daughter. The woman reluctantly agrees to the visit, but refuses the money, and informs the women that if they return, she will most certainly contact Social Services to report them.

Billy asks Josh for a job at Lewis Oil, and Josh agrees.

Jesse's father pays the Bauer's a visit, screaming a warning at Michelle to stay away from his son. Rick is perplexed; he can't understand why this man would be so unappreciative when Michelle is giving up her free time to teach his son how to read. In the midst of the argument, Jesse shows up, and Rick is able to put two and two together to determine that Jesse is the boy Michelle has been tutoring. Rick begins yelling at Michelle for lying to him, Jesse defends Michelle, and finally Mr. Blue tells Rick what his beef is with the Bauers: that they're "related to that drunken butcher that killed my wife." Rick tells Jesse that his mother was not killed, that she died naturally. Mr. Blue threatens them all over again, and he and Jesse leave, leaving Michelle and Rick to their own argument. Rick accuses Michelle of sleeping with Jesse and in a tearful, screaming match, Michelle informs Rick that while she did want to sleep with Jesse, he did the honorable thing which was to say no.

Harley and Jenna discuss the opening of their P.I. business. They bicker over the smallest details and are all set to give up, when Reva and Josh become their first clients, hiring them to locate Reva's sister.

Amanda visits Alan in Chicago, asking him why he is helping "Annie of Green Gable's Psychiatric Ward." She tells him that Annie's doctor came to the house looking for her, and Amanda and Roger did not appreciate having to cover for her in her absence. She reminds Alan that Annie is on probation, and says she'd like one good reason why she should cover for her again. Then she calls Roger and tells him that Alan and Annie are up to no good and that she is determined to get Annie out of the Spaulding house.

Marcus plays his sax at the club for his girlfriend in front of the club's owner, Sugar. Sugar seems to have an eye for more than Marcus's music, however. After his performance, she tells Marcus that she has rented a room for them at The Towers for tomorrow night, where she wants to spend the whole night with him.

Cassie accepts the high paying job that Annie and Alan have offered her. She does so after Annie convinces her that the unusual money and respectability that come with the position will enable her to fight for custody of her daughter, Tammy. Annie laughs maniacally after Cassie leaves, saying, "Cassie Layne is coming to Springfield! And poor Reva won't know what hit her."
