Alfred Peterson, also known as Alfie, was introduced in Season 2, episode 4, titled “Jules and Em”. He is from London, works at a UK bank, and loves to play football. He met Emily for the first time in her French class. He didn’t want to learn French, but he enrolled himself in a French class because of his company. He doesn’t like France and he doesn’t want to stay there long, as he is just there for work. He and Emily got to spend time together as they were assignment partners. He enjoys teasing her as they have differences in opinions about Paris. He challenges her to not take everything seriously and enjoy her life.

With time, they got closer and started dating in Season 2. As they spent time together, his year in Paris came to an end. They decide to have a long-distance relationship. She misses his farewell party because of her work. This created a conflict between them, as he felt unsure whether she would ever make him her priority.

He came back to Paris as he accepted the job at Maison Lavaux as CFO without telling Emily. They work out their differences when Emily makes a grand romantic gesture for him in public. Eventually, he ended their relationship in Season 4, feeling that he would always be waiting for her and that they should remain just friends. While working together for a masquerade ball for Maison Lavaux's new fragrance launch, he realizes that he still has feelings for her. He decides to confront her but gets heartbroken when he sees Emily and Gabriel together.

He spends a few weeks in Paris to get over Emily. In the process, he fell in love with the city and its culture. He moves on with another girl. His journey comes full circle as in the end he acknowledges the beauty of Paris.

Lucien Leon Laviscount is a British actor, born on June 9, 1992, in Burnley, Lancashire. At the age of 10, he started his acting career with the TV show Clocking Off in 2002. He rose to fame with the teen drama show Grange Hill in 2007. He gained worldwide popularity for his role as Alfie in Emily in Paris. He was nominated for the MTV Movie & TV Awards along with Lily Collin in 2022.

Apart from Emily in Paris, he has been part of many projects including Coronation Street (2009), Waterloo Road (2010-2011), Scream Queens (2015), Snatch (2017-2018), Katy Keene (2020), Your Christmas or Mine?
