In season 4, Dr. Owens supports Eleven and takes her to a place in the middle of nowhere called Project Nina to help her regain her powers in order to fight back Vecna. In episode 8 titled, “Chapter 8: Papa”, he and Dr. Brenner argued because Eleven wanted to go to Hawkins and save her friends. According to Dr. Brenner, Eleven was not ready to go back to Hawkins and fight Vecna, so he locked her in Nina’s room and his men handcuffed Dr. Owens to a pipe. Dr. Brenner warns Eleven that if she tries to go to Hawkins, he will kill Dr. Owens.

Dr. Owens is last seen when the military raids the underground base in the middle of the desert and he requests Lt. Col. Some are speculating that he survived the explosion and escaped the underground base. Fans must wait to see Dr. Owens’s fate in the final season.
