Yes, Joe kills his partner, Guinevere Beck, in the final moments of season 1. Beck discovered Joe's secret box and found her phone, along with Benji’s teeth and other things of people she knew. When Joe realizes that Beck knows everything, he knocks her out and locks her inside the glass chamber. After long and disturbing conversations between them, Beck manages to manipulate Joe to come inside the glass box to kiss her, and Beck uses the opportunity to stab Joe with a typewriter needle. But Beck fails to get out of the basement in time, and Joe grabs her from behind. Beck is killed off-screen, and Joe frames Beck’s therapist, Dr. Nicky, for her murder.

Elizabeth Lail is an American actress who is mostly known for playing Beck in the Penn Badgley starrer “You.” Lail played Anna in ABC’s fantasy series “Once Upon a Time” in 2014. She then got cast in a starring role in the 2016 horror show “Dead of Summer,” where he played the character of a camp counselor named Amy. After “You,” Lail played the lead role in the 2019 horror film “Countdown.” Lail has also done shows like HBO's “Gossip Girl,” and NBC’s “Ordinary Joe.”


Elizabeth Lail received a nomination for Best Actress in Streaming Presentation at the 45th Saturn Awards for her portrayal of Beck.
