Rainn Wilson plays Dwight in the show. He is an American actor, comedian, producer, and writer, born on January 20, 1966, in Seattle, Washington, United States. In 1986, he graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor's degree in drama. He later attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where he did his MFA in acting. He initially performed in theater before transitioning to TV and film.

He made his on-screen debut with the TV show One Life to Live in 1997. In 1999, he made his film debut with the film Galaxy Quest. He got his breakthrough role as Dwight in the hit sitcom The Office (2005-2013). He became a household name and received international popularity for this role.
