Yes, there will be a season 2 as well as a season 3 of Shōgun. After the staggering success of the first season, FX and Hulu have greenlit the show for further seasons. The show's creators Justin Marks and Rachel Kondo spoke about the upcoming season during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter and revealed “It’s been exciting and nerve-wracking because, obviously, this is uncharted territory.”

The co-creators also added that Clavell's novel was fully utilized in creating the first season of Shōgun and they don’t have a “roadmap” but just the “history” for the further season. While talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Marks confirmed that season 3 of Shōgun will be the last. He said, “The third season is really the end. We know where it starts, and we know where it ends, and we know who is there on that journey.”
