You is a popular Netflix thriller show based on the books written by Caroline Kepnes. The show first aired in 2018 and became popular for its dark story and cast performances. It currently has 4 seasons and its 5th and final season is set to be released on April 24, 2025. It follows the life of Joe Goldberg, a smart and charming man who becomes dangerously obsessed with people he falls in love with.

Joe seems normal at first, but he often takes extreme and violent steps to get close to the person he’s obsessed with, including stalking and even killing people who come in his way. In every season, the show introduces many new characters who add depth to the storyline. Among the standout characters was Kate Galvin, who quickly became an important part of the show as Joe’s new love interest. Let’s take a look at Kate’s character and the actress who plays her.

Kate Galvin was introduced in the 4th season of the show. She is shown as a successful art dealer based in London. She is the daughter of Tom Lockwood, a powerful activist investor from whom she spent years trying to distance herself. She hated how his business had harmed others and referred to him as the ‘worst man alive.’ Due to this, Kate didn’t identify with the British upper class, even though her social circle was filled with ultra-rich socialites.

At the start of the 4th season, Joe moves to London to lay low and decides to avoid any kind of romance, but Kate catches his attention. She was initially dating Malcolm Harding, a rude professor at the college where Joe works under the fake name Jonathan Moore. When Malcolm got murdered, Joe started following Kate to protect her, and they grew closer, eventually becoming intimate. During a trip to Lady Phoebe’s estate, Kate and Joe grow closer after hiding a murder together. She later saves him from the real killer, and they eventually start dating.

Later, Kate’s father comes back to London and wants her to take over his business, but she refuses. He then tells her he’s been secretly supporting her career, even after they stopped talking, which makes her very upset. Joe ends up killing Tom and tries to take his own life but is saved by the police. Kate covers up Joe’s involvement in Rhys’s death, which she later discovers was ordered by her father. Joe finally tells her his real name, and they move to New York together. Kate takes over her father’s business and tries to make it better. She also helps Joe look like a good person in the media.
