Luke Dunphy is the youngest child of the Dunphy family. As the youngest, he is portrayed as a goofy and playful person. His naive nature often added humor to the show, making him stand out among other kids. He is very different from his sisters Alex and Haley. Luke is not academically smart like Alex, nor is he as popular as Haley. He was fascinated by different things and tried different hobbies like magic, science experiments, etc throughout the show. His unpredictable nature brings humor to any situation.

Luke shares a loving relationship with his family. He loves his grandfather and respects his uncles. His relationship with his sisters is like every other sibling. Although Haley is the eldest, Alex is stricter with Luke. Despite this, he enjoys pulling pranks on both of them. He shares a typical parent-child relationship with his mother, who tends to be the stricter one. Clair being a practical and controlling person, often scolds Luke for his antics and pranks he pulls, though it’s not the case with every situation. She tries to be patient with him, but when things get out of hand, she feels the need to stop him.

Luke’s relationship with his father is strong; he considers him one of his best friends. They share the same sense of humor, and Phil often joins his son in his pranks. Luke and Manny share a unique relationship in the show, even though they are not blood-related. They are around the same age group, and in earlier seasons, they share a rivalry because they are polar opposites of each other. Manny is sensitive and mature for his age and always judges Luke for his childish behavior. Luke on the other hand is mischievous and carefree, and judges Manny for being boring. As the show progresses their bond continues to evolve and they become closer to each other.
