The courtesan revealed in the fourth episode of Shogun is recognized to be Kiku, one of the famous courtesans in Izu. During the 4th episode titled “The Eightfold Fence”, the character KiKu is shown having an intimate moment with the Omi during their time in the village of Ajiro. While throughout the series we have seen Kiku having various clients come to her as a famous courtesan throughout Izu, she seems to have genuine feelings for Omi and hopes for him to achieve Lord status at some point.


The Fx series special Shogun has delivered various mindblowing episodes with unique characters in their first season. The show has quite a unique storyline set in historical Japan which was ruled over by kings, lords, samurais, and shoguns. The show has earned a huge fan following for portraying how samurais and lords at the time were living their lives. The show revolves around a British ship captain, John Blackthorne, who travels through thick and thin on rough seas and ends up in the fish city of Ajiro. The story goes on to show his journey amongst the Samurai who have a completely different lifestyle than him.

Kiku is a fictional character in the Shogun series. The character is known to be one of the most famous courtesans in the kingdom of Izu. In appearance, Kiku is young, beautiful, and most of all, perceptive. She is only called upon by famous lords and kings or people with a lot of money. She is highly skilled in reading her clients with a practiced ease which is one of the reasons why she is famous amongst the lords for her service.


Talking about her relationships, Kiku is shown to be a close apprentice to Gin and some kind of love interest with Omi, which is highlighted throughout the series on a couple of occasions.

The role of Kiku from the Shogun series is played by Japanese actress Yuka Kouri. Born on September 24, 1990, in Tokyo, Japan, Yuka has made a name for herself through her appearance as Kiku on Shogun. The actress has also been featured in another Japanese series titled “Heart Attack” which was released in 2024. She also appeared in a Japanese movie which goes by the name September 1923. This movie was released in 2023 and was directed by Tatsuya Mori. Talking about her relationships, Yuka seems to be single and is not dating anyone at the moment.
