Jordan Clarke: A Brief Biography

At A Glance

Although Guiding Light fans are certainly familiar with Jordan's portrayal of Billy Lewis, they first laid eyes on him in January 1975, when he joined the CBS daytime drama in the role of Dr. Tim Ryan.

Born in Rochester, New York, Jordan attended Cornell University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in philosophy and an MFA in acting in 1971. He continued his theatrical training at the New York University School of the Arts, where he studied with John Heffernan and Peter Kass.

He has been active in regional theater with the Ithaca Repertory Theatre, the Olney Theatre, and Long Wharf Theatre. He was a co-founder of the off-Broadway Shaliko Public Theatre, and acted there in Shadow of a Gunman and Children of the Gods.

Jordan has appeared in numerous primetime series, including Three's Company, Knight Rider, The Tony Randall Show, Fantasy Island, M*A*S*H, and Law & Order. He has had featured roles in the television miniseries The Executioner's Song and Testimony of Two Men, and was also seen in the television movies Charleston and Forever.

He plays the guitar and trumpet and writes fiction, poetry and film scripts. He has previously been involved in such diverse businesses as running a construction company and raising purebred quarter horses. Jordan's birthday is July 21.
