
David Zayas is a Puerto Rican-American actor, born on August 15, 1962, in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He was raised in the Bronx, New York. He joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of 19 and later became a police officer with the NYPD before pursuing a career in acting. His experience as a police officer helped him play similar roles better on screen.
He started his acting career in the 1990s and has been working in the entertainment industry for over 30 years. He began his acting debut with the show Law & Order in 1995. He is best known for his work in the show Dexter (2006-2013).
