It seems that Josh needs a job and a little romance. Reva is getting into the swing of things to get the ball rolling, but his choices are getting slimmer, unless he reconciles with an ex.

It is Election Week and while everyone is heading (I hope) to the polls to vote, there are choices in Springfield that seem increasingly difficult (albeit not nearly so important).

Watching Reva and Josh this week, and Josh and Billy recently, it seems that the soon-to-be former minister needs a job and a little romance. This week Reva is getting into the swing of things to get the ball rolling for "Bud" but his choices are getting slimmer - unless he reconciles with an ex.

It's one of those things that you see coming in Springfield, and I've talked about it before, but the pairing (and un-pairing) of couples leaves you at a loss for new ideas at times. Sure, Remy seems to have a new love interest once she's on-screen more, but Josh has, well, had relationships with his fair share of ladies. Now his ex-ex-ex wife Reva wants to set him up. Not that someone as sweet and handsome as Josh needs much help, but the "nester" (Reva) is making him a project.

Over the years I've made no bones about it. I like more than a little romance in Springfield - and certainly more than we have gotten of late. How many happy couples are in town? Very few. Marina and Mallet seem close - except she has trust issues (which I totally understand). Beth and Alan are, well, not a match I chose to think about. And Lizzie and Bill reunite, only to have him nearly die in a vehicle crash minutes later.

Frank likes Natalia, who can't stop thinking about her son Rafe who is in prison and not about love. Daisy teeters between Rafe and true bad-boy Grady. Dinah can't forget Mallet. Cassie slept with her best friend's boyfriend (after he left her niece for her). See what I mean? Billy still loves Vanessa, who is ignoring his advances. Rick, Mel, Blake, Coop, Ashlee, Olivia, Dinah, Matt, and Alex are also all looking for love. So Springfield, maybe you can get busy and make some lasting love matches for fans to enjoy - just choose wisely!

While I am glad the Lizzie kidnapping plot is over I can see that the fallout will last us through November sweeps - no surprise. But after that, can we have some small measure of happiness for these two? Alan can try to pry them apart, but I want some happiness for these two! And how many times can Grady break the law (and not in a small way) and get away with it? I loved the scenes with Kane Manera showing how alone Grady felt - but his constant criminal ways are not the way to keep him in Springfield. Surely his character can have good in him that more than Daisy can see?

With the holidays right around the corner, I would like to see some happy stories in Springfield. But it's a sure bet that Dinah and Bill won't be sharing a turkey leg this month - once he learns the truth. But I hope that once the dust settles we'll see some strong stories to start off 2009. Until next week...

Keep the Light Shining and Have a Great Week!
