From the start of the show, he studies at Springfield Elementary School. Since The Simpsons’ timeline is always present, the character never ages, but in season 36, Bart does celebrate his eleventh birthday. The name of the character is an anagram of the word Brat. The character is known for his mischievousness, rebellious nature, and pranks.

For the first two seasons of The Simpsons, Bart was the lead character of the show. However, that was not taken well by the majority of the audience, and by the third season, Bart’s father, Homer, became the central lead character of the show. That didn't take away Bart’s popularity, though, as he still remains one of the most iconic characters of American television.

Who voices Bart Simpson?

Although a male character, Bart Simpson is voiced by actress Nancy Cartwright. The actress originally auditioned to be the voice of another character, Lisa, who is Bart’s sister, while voice actress Yeardley Smith auditioned for the part of Bart. But Cartwright was ultimately not drawn towards the character of Lisa, and Smith’s voice was not right for Bart either. Eventually, they ended up with the opposite of what they originally auditioned for, Cartwright as Bart and Smith as Lisa. Cartwright has recently announced that she is going to do a podcast on The Simpsons.
