Survivor is the American adaptation of the global Survivor reality competition television franchise, which was inspired by Charlie Parsons' 1997 Swedish television series, Expedition Robinson. It debuted on CBS on May 31, 2000.


Jeff Probst, Mark Burnett, and Parsons, the original creator, serve as its hosts and executive producers. The show has had a total of 47 seasons since its debut in the year 2000. Every tournament is referred to as a season, has a distinct name, and consists of 13–16 episodes.
