Stranger Things' fifth and final season is anticipated to premiere in 2025.

The first season, which was produced by 21 Laps Entertainment and Monkey Massacre Productions, debuted on Netflix on July 15, 2016. Filming for Stranger Things season 5 is still ongoing as of October 2024, but we are getting very close. Filming will soon come to an end, according to Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler on the program, in an interview with People on October 13, 2024.

The @strangerwriters Twitter account had previously shared an update in August 2022 that contained just the words "Day 1." A hand-drawn Stranger Things 5 logo is displayed on a whiteboard, and a group of individuals seated around a table can be seen reflected on the whiteboard. Officially, Stranger Things 5 was under development, and the writer's room had started. The whole season's plot had been grid-blocked by the writers' room by September. Below is the Twitter/X link for the same:

Why is Season 5 of Stranger Things delayed?

It was originally planned for Stranger Things 5 to start filming in May 2023. But the Writers Guild of America formally went on strike in the first week of May. Production was stopped for more than 140 days on both ends when the Screen Actors Guild union went on strike a few weeks later. The writers announced that season 5 development had resumed on September 27, 2023, with the simple and sweet words, "We're back," penned on an otherwise blank script page.

Why is Stranger Things ending?

In an open letter to fans in February 2022, the Duffer brothers stated that Stranger Things was nearing its conclusion and that "seven years ago, we planned out the complete story arc for Stranger Things. We estimated at the time that the story would go for four or five seasons. It turned out to be too big to tell in four, but as you can see, we are now speeding toward our conclusion.:

Is Stranger Things Rated R?

Even though the show follows a bunch of kids and teens throughout its first season, it is highly not recommended for kids below 12 years or so. The eventual developments within the show’s plot depict gore and violence even within the first season. It is therefore not suitable to watch for kids.
