Stranger Things has been nominated for 57 Primetime Emmy Awards and won 12.

The show's narrative, acting, direction, production qualities, visual effects, and soundtrack have all won multiple awards and been praised by critics.

Stranger Things was created by the Duffer Brothers as a blend of supernatural and investigative drama, depicted with a sense of terror and childish sensitivity infused with references to 1980s pop culture. After a neighboring human research facility opens a gateway between Earth and the Upside Down, the residents of the fictional small town of Hawkins, Indiana, are subjugated by an evil alternative realm known as the Upside Down.
