Big Brother US is a popular reality TV show based on a show created by John De Mol Jr. It was first aired in the Netherlands in 1999. The show first released on CBS on July 5, 2000, and has since become one of the longest-running reality TV shows in the United States. The show is produced by Don Wollman and narrated by Dave Walsh, Philip Proctor, and Clayton Halsey. In the show, contestants, known as houseguests, live together in a specially designed house. They have no contact with the outside world and are constantly watched by cameras and microphones.

Each week, one houseguest becomes the Head of Household (HOH) and must nominate 2 fellow contestants for eviction. At the end of the week, the remaining Houseguests vote to evict one of the nominees. This cycle continues until the last Houseguest remains. The goal is to be the last Houseguest standing to win a cash prize currently set at $750,000. One of the most important parts of Big Brother is its host, who plays an important role in guiding the show, interacting with houseguests, and engaging with viewers. The host of Big Brother US is Julie Chen Moonves, who has been with the show since its debut in 2000. Julie is a TV personality, news anchor, and producer. She was born on January 6, 1970, in New York, United States. Julie started working in the industry as an intern alongside Andy Cohen at CBS Morning News. She is popular for her calm and professional hosting style, as well as her iconic line, "But first," which she uses when introducing unexpected twists or changes in the game. She talks with the houseguests during live eviction episodes, asking questions and guiding the eviction process.

Julie Chen Moonves is a veteran TV host and news anchor. Before hosting Big Brother, she worked as a co-anchor on CBS’s The Early Show and is also known for her work on the daytime talk show The Talk. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Julie recalls how the show was not well received when it was aired. She said, "I thought, 'Ooh, this is going to really change the face of television,' only to receive the worst reviews from every angle on season 1. TV critics hated the concept of the show. They hated the lighting. They hated the IKEA-looking furniture. They hated the house, they hated everything."

Julie further talked about how she is going to return back to her local news channel. She said, "I thought, number one, we're not going to finish season 1. Number two, I'm probably going to get fired completely from the network. That's it for my career. I'm going back [to] Dayton and begging for my job back there as a local news reporter.'" Over the years, Julie has become an important part of the Big Brother, and many fans can't imagine the show without her. Even when the show changed its format or introduced new twists, Julie's presence remained constant, guiding the audience and contestants through every season.
